DITEST Series - Distributed STRAIN AND TEMPERATURE ANALYZER

The DITEST SERIES instruments is based on Stimulated Brillouin Time Domain Analysis (BOTDA) and features distributed temperature and strain measurements along optical fiber cables. This technology has been pioneered by Omnisens and represents the state of the art sensing technique to date.

The DITEST DLIGHT is a brand new product which uses Omnisens DITEST core sensing technique adapted to dynamic monitoring applications.

Distributed Acoustic SENSING ANALYZER

The Optasense analyzer is based on fiber optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS). The system converts standard fibre-optic cable buried in the ground into a highly effective acoustic sensor over long distance, turning light into sound.

Features & Benefits

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is a cost-effective method for monitoring activity over long distance infrastructures. Operator can Detect, Classify and Locate activity along the entire fiber optic length and anticipate threats before they could affect the operation of their infrastructure.

  • Detection: Highly sensitive over hundreds of kilometres, OptaSense™ is able to detect threats in real time before they come within damaging range of the asset. This allows preventative action and is unique to OptaSense™
  • Classification: A powerful processing architecture for analysing acoustic activity has been built, drawing upon decades of military sonar research. This tells the operator what the threat is and effectively eradicates false or nuisance alarms.

    Localisation: The entire length of the fibre is independently and simultaneously analysed in acoustic channels measuring 10m. Therefore the coordinates for any threat can be provided to the operator with a 10m accuracy. For long distance assets this is particularly useful for threat response and in particular installations alert coordinates can be used to cue other security platforms such as CCTV or UAVs.
