OMNISENS signs supply agreement with AKER REINERTSEN

Dec 2009

Omnisens the global provider of long-range, deepwater continuous temperature monitoring, has signed an agreement to supply a Fiber Optic Flowline protection system to Aker Reinertsen as part of the Statoil, Morvin to Agar Å sgard B Topside upgrade programme.

The system is due to be supplied in February and will ensure system integrity, through distributed temperature monitoring along the full length of a Direct Electrically Heated (DEH) flowline.

The system will provide continuous monitoring of the temperature along the flowline and provide alerts and warnings on hotspots, any rapid changes in temperature, adverse trending or increases past pre set triggers, with pinpoint accuracy providing exact location details of any abnormality. In addition the system is designed to alarm and trip the electrical supply to the DEH should a fault occur in the DEH system.

Speaking from the manufacturing facility in Morges, Switzerland, Project Manager Andrew Byers stated “We are delighted to be supporting Aker Reinertsen in this project. The Flowline Protection System (FPS) is based on our standard DiTEST monitoring solution and will provide accurate and reliable trending information across the full length of the flowline. “
